Product Overview
St. Johnswort Plus provides not only a standardized extract to ensure consistent efficacy, but the entire aerial portion of St. Johns wort to ensure all phytochemicals are present in the final formulation. As a tonic, St. Johns wort is used by herbalists for the relief of anxiety, tension and insomnia. It is considered one of the most valuable European medicinal herbs for nervous problems.
Hypericin, hyperforin and adhyperforin are thought to be among the active components of St. Johns wort; they may work independently or synergistically to exert their effects. Hyperforin affects night-time melatonin levels and inhibits the reuptake of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine, gamma-butyric acid (GABA) and L-glutamate. It may take several weeks for the effects of St. Johns wort to appear.
St. Johnswort Plus is guaranteed to contain no eggs, fish, gluten, milk, peanuts, shellfish, soy, sulphites, tree nuts, wheat, corn, dairy- or animal by-products. St. Johnswort Plus does is not irradiated and does not contain genetically-modified material. The capsules in this formula are from a vegetable source making it suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
