High potency antioxidant formula for eyes Individuals with
low plasma concentrations of carotenoids and antioxidant vitamins are at
increased risk for undesirable age-related changes in the eyes; carotenoids and
antioxidant vitamins may help to retard some of these destructive processes.
(Am J Clin Nutr 1995 Dec;62(6 Suppl):1448S-1461S). Dietary supplementation with
lutein may exert protective effects with respect to undesirable age-related
changes in the eyes. (Exp Eye Res 1997 Jul;65(1):57-62). The flavonoid
quercetin protects against pro-oxidant insults to the eyes. (Biochem Soc Trans
1997 Nov;25(4):S581). Ginkgo biloba extract has an antioxidant, free-radical
scavenger effect on the retina; it inhibits or reduces damage caused by
oxidative insults. (Int J Tissue React 1995;17(3):93-100).
