Mood and Methyl Support*
Betaine TMG provides betaine, also called trimethylglycine, which occurs naturally in the body and provides methyl groups that support genetic, epigenetic, and numerous metabolic life functions. Betaine also can supplement the metabolic actions of SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine). Betaine TMG is a component of the comprehensive brain program developed by leading clinical neuroscientist
Daniel Amen, MD.
• Enhances mood benefits of SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine)*
• Rich source of metabolically essential methyl groups*
• Supports metabolic recycling of homocysteine*
• Important protectant for cell water balance*

The only ingredient in TMG betaine supplement is Betaine. It's also called as trimethylglycine (TMG). It’s important for metabolism. Some of the food sources rich in betaine are spinach, beets, etc. This compound may be useful for the brain, liver, and many other internal organs.

Betaine also supports the body's natural antioxidant defenses. It's important for controlling the levels of homocysteine, which is toxic.

Methylation is an important process that transfers methyl groups between the various compounds in the body. It's crucial to manufacture folate and vitamin B12. It's also responsible for neurotransmitter production and amino acid synthesis. Your body needs proper methylation to create red blood cells, DNA, RNA, and various hormones.

Some people may have methylation problem due to genetic mutation. Betaine TMG helps your body to methylate well as it's a methyl donor. It recycles to methionine and fuels SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine), which is the master methylator for mood, joints, and more.

Studies show that supplementing with lower doses of TMG may bring down homocysteine levels immediately and the benefits may improve over time.

1. What's the difference between TMG Betaine and Betaine HCL?

Betaine HCL combines betaine with hydrochloric acid, and it's useful for digestion. TMG Betaine is completely different as it donates methyl groups to support the methylation process . It may benefit heart health as it lowers homocysteine levels. It also supports a positive mood and healthy energy.

2. Can TMG Betaine support athletic performance?

Yes, TMG can enhance power output and endurance. It's an osmolyte and improves cellular hydration. It supports muscle building through support for recovery due to its anti-inflammatory properties. One study found that betaine supplementation for six weeks helped improve body composition, bench press work capacity, and arm size. It may improve exercise power.

3. Can TMG help people with the MTHFR variant?

People with the MTHFR variant may have impaired conversion of folate into methylfolate. For them, TMG Betaine may be useful to support methylation as it acts as a methyl donor. You should consult with your doctor before taking this supplement.
